Mesma Belsare is the Founder and Artistic Director of RASA®, an acronym for Re-Presenting Arts of South Asia.

 

What it means?

Rasa, the Sanskrit word for Essence refers to the savoring by a connoisseur when presented with a finely crafted work of art. It implies a synergistic sharing of feeling that transcends the medium.

Mission

RASA® is a catalytic language of human interaction and connectivity. RASA applies the art forms of India and South Asia to challenge perceptions through dance, music, poetry and the visual arts. RASA is both artistic and educational in its mission, and aims to bring the richness of the arts of India and South Asia to the United States.
